Without going into too much detail, as new parents, you try to prepare for your child as much as possible. In our case, we were waiting for the arrival of our baby daughter. My wife planned on breastfeeding but as a precaution, I purchased a single tub of Enfamil for Supplementing and a single tub of Enfamil Newborn Infant Formula as a precautionary measure. After all, you can return unused products to the store. Better safe than sorry is my motto.

It ended up that precautionary step paid off. Unfortunately, the unexpected happened and our daughter was born prematurely due to pregnancy complications during the 3rd trimester. She was in the NICU for 7 days and during that time frame, we visited every 3 hours, every day, for 7 days to nurse her. However, my wife was not producing enough breastmilk and after the first few times nursing, the hospital had to supplement our baby with formula. We asked for Enfamil, but they were a "Similac-sponsored" hospital. Therefore, all they had to give my daughter was Similac products. Even after we brought our daughter home, we had to follow the routine of nursing + formula. They gave us several samples of Similac Advance with the Early Shield logo and my wife and I decided to keep her on it since she was doing well, but around the same time, Similac Advance w/ OptiGRO was released. I chose the Baby Trend Flex Lock for the shoulder adjustment. It is a great car seat. It only took me a day to get down the latching system on the harness which I think is more safe than the regular latching that you would see on other car seats. I love the cover, easy to adjust and take on and off to get to the baby, keeps baby all snug and warm. The canopy is large which is great however the latch to attach to the car seat was thought of cheaply. It unlatches often so I decided to tape it. The hooks for the base was the easiest base I ever had to maneuver. I have a 4 door small sedan and I have 4 kids under the age of 8. This car seat fits in between the two car seats in the back seat perfectly. I would highly recommend this car seat to anyone. The only thing I would change is the canopy attachment.

 Whoever came up with this is a genius and a lifesaver. I too only use formula when I'm on the go or need to supplement if I don't have enough breast milk, so the can is a waste since I won't finish it in a month. The packets are so convenient. I carry a bottle or two of 4oz water and a couple of packets in my purse at all times for emergencies. Paid $10.69 for a box of 16 at Target.

 Only 4 out of 5 stars because you can only make 4 oz or 8 oz. So if your baby is currently eating more than 4oz but less than 8oz you either hope he is satisfied with 4oz or make 8oz and waste some.
